ANANTARA Sathorn

This post is about one of my favorite weekend spot, ANANTARA Sathorn, the same chain as the luxurious Villa style resort in Phuket( the picture above). This Sathorn one just opened not long ago and located right here in BKK. I booked ANANTARA, Sathorn online via Agoda because the Site always have a good rate.



And yes, Anantara 's price was beyond good. Just 2,200 baht without the breakfast ( I always make our own breakfast , coffee and tea..so, this is fine ) even including the breakfast, still very affordable.







The images they put in Agoda is way above their rate, seemed very promising including the great looking swimming pool and 24 hour gym. Wifi free, Big bathtub, pantry area, separate living from the bedroom, dining table for four and a balcony! Yes, you get all of that.!
From the pictures, I thought it was built as a serviced apartment and that 's why they included all of that in the room design. For all these facilities and their rate, Anantara serves my weekend needs quite well.
So I booked it and we have been staying there for few weekends already. It is one of out regular weekend spot. It may have changed a few things from time to time, such as our latest weekend stay, they stopped giving you the in-room slippers, the give away toiletries, even the toothbrush set.
But still we think it is the best buy for what we got.

The living area where my hubby already made himself a reserved spot sitting while using his iPAD, of course with complimentary Wi Fi.







42" TV with satellite program and the mobile computer key to use it for Internet browsing as well. They provided a lot of channels, varieties from many country!
Right next from TV, you will see the door to the separated bedroom.

In the bedroom, king size bed, good comfort.

You can access to the bathroom directly from the bedroom.

Generally, ANANTARA, Sathorn is very generous on their rate, comparing to the experience of staying there! The staffs are quite helpful and professional. Even the security guy could speak little English and able to suggest the foreigner guests where to go for dinner.
So far, here is my rate:
This stay outshines my usual experience , even when comparing to 5 star hotels in Bangkok, and with the best deal rate to STEAL!
They provide you what I always look for when I search for my residencial property. Now I could get all that in such an affordable price. It suits me on every aspect. What more could I ask for?
It is HOME.!

Splendid S31

I was in the dinner with my high school girl friends when this plan came up. We were there to collect the wedding invitation of Nok, a pretty girl who got married finally with the Bad Boy - look groom! ( only the look but don't let that fool you)
Anyway, she planned the wedding reception at this hip hotel in Sulhumvit 31. It was on my weekend list and that's perfect to book the room, for make up/ getting dress up and I could spend a night there after the wedding party.



Overall the stay was nice and fancy. The swimming pool was very small. Too much unnecessary design elements. A lot of pointy spot that might hit and hurt you.
Located right across their lobby so, you will see WET people walk across the lobby all the time. This may be a bad circulation for a city chic hotel. If it was at Hard Rock Pattaya, I would totally understand.

I did not take much picture of this stay because it was before I would think of this blog. I just put in my post because it still on my repeat staying list. Next time, if we stay there again, will certainly put more pictures and seriously review their facilities.

Anyway, my girlfriends came to the room for make up and dressing up. That was lovely and fun girlfriends scene. I love them all and we all look so pretty that night!

HKG boat house experience

My latest trip to HKG turned out to be quite a nice treat! At first I was so panic to find out the usual economically hotel we always stay was full. And as you may know, the hong kong hotel are pricy. And for this trip, I did not want to put my money more than USD 90 a night. So, I put my thought in google search "cheap Hong Kong hotel"
Then,I spotted one link that says "living on the boat in Hong Kong" I was in right away! This is what I am looking for my MINI Vacation, my weekend world!
So, I booked it via AIRBNB, which is a great site! Then, TADA...we were there on the boat in Hong Kong for that weekend.



The breakfast terrace, the boat helper made us sandwich and coffee.



The living area, we had a great chat with the boat owner and his brother all morning. Very comfy!



It is a real boat but was not for cruising!


Fairly good kitchen appliances, we cooked noodle and some light meal!



The guest sleeping room, not big but we were in a boat, it was acceptable.



The little guy greeted us when we were boarding.

So far, we loved it and thanks to the great mass transit in Hong Kong, we never felt complication to commute from the boat to HKG city at all. It was a great MINI vacation! , my weekend world on the BOAT!

The Weekend world

This is my MINI vacation journal, my weekend world. I urge all of you to try this idea. To spice your life up. You will feel like you are going out on a fresh date every time! It is the greatest and easiest way to explore different places even though, you are in your own city. I take the advantage of using the facilities of each place we stay. Great bathtub, great view, great garden, great Gym,.... swimming pool, sauna.... Etc. Some places even have a library and movie theater with no extra charge. So, I could cut down my expenses on a lot of activities that I could get as a package with my booking. This works for me lovingly! We( me and my husband) are hooked and always expect for the weekend. My weekend list keeps expanding and I try to blog about my review regularly. Some weeks, we would repeat the stay on certain places because it was the great deal, could not beat!
Sometimes, I got invited to stay and write about the place, I will make sure to be as non-bias as possible. I always inform in my post whether the stay was by my will or by invitation!
I also rate each facilities according to my personal judgement, so it could be a good guideline for someone who is looking to stay in that place. But we could feel different on the same thing so, Remember, It is my weekend world! But you are welcome to enjoy it!
